Pass Plus Lessons
Pass Plus is a training scheme linked to insurance discounts that will benefit you, the NEWLY QUALIFIED DRIVER. It can save you money on your car insurance premiums.
Our Pass plus courses booked through the web-site will cost £150.00. Pupil's that have previosly taken lessons with Karen's School of Motoring, will receive a £30 discount voucher.
Pass Plus lessons can be taken by any full licence holder at any time although it is recommended within one year of passing your driving test.
Pass Plus will give you a Positive Driving style which is both enjoyable and safe, helping you gain quality driving experience. It will also help in areas where you may have had little or no driving experience and also help to reduce the risk of you being involved in an accident.

Module 1 Introduction
Your instructor will introduce the course and outline the disciplines and benefits of the course.
Module 2 Town Driving
This is a practical session concentrating on observation, judgement and awareness eye contact, being cautious, but not unnecessarily hesitant, keeping space around the car, multi-lane junctions and unusual roundabouts, over - and underpasses, bus and cycle lanes.
Module 3 All Weather Driving
This may be a theory session. The aim will be to discuss safe driving in extreme weather and road conditions.
Topics will include: seeing and being seen, using appropriate lights, safe speed and distances, anticipation, causes and how to correct skids.
Module 4 Rural and Out - of Town Driving
This will be a practical session featuring driving on all types of rural roads endeavoring to include:- bends, hills and uneven road surfaces, safe overtaking. Observation and making progress safely, with emphasis on: Farm entrances, animals and slow moving vehicles, mud on road, sharp bends, use of horn/lights.
Module 5 Night Driving
This will take place after lighting - up time. It will cover: the correct use of lights, seeing and being seen familiarisation of reflective signs, markings, etc. judging speed and distance of self and others, adjusting to dusk and dawn (theory) being prepared for pedestrians and cyclists.
Module 6 Dual Carriageway and Motoring Driving
Topics include:- effective observation and use of mirrors/blind spots joining, and leaving carriageways judgment and planning safe distances, overtaking and safe speeds in different circumstances, signs, signals and road markings.
N.B. These modules may not necessarily be taken in the above order, and some may overlap, depending on the previous experience of the candidate.

- Pupils living within a London Borough may receive a £70.00 cheque after taking their Pass Plus lessons. If you enroll & are accepted by Pass Plus London you will be able to claim back £70.00 (Terms & conditions apply, please ask your Karen's instructor or phone for full details.
- Pupils living in Brentwood, under the age of 18 taking Pass plus could qualify for a £50* discount available from Brentwood Road Safety. Speak to your instructor, or telephone the office for full details.
