Driving Lesson Scholarship

As part of Karen's School of Motoring's commitment to improving the standard of driving in our community we are providing an opportunity for one deserving individual to win a Driving Lesson Scholarship.

Karen's School of Motoring is one of the largest Essex driving schools with male and female instructors passed
teaching throughout the county, including Romford, Southend on Sea & Thurrock. 

Our Instructors and management team are committed to our Driving Lesson Scholarship and will teach you to drive safely on our roads.  We take our job very seriously but also endeavour to make our student's driving experience enjoyable, educational, structured and successful. 

Karen's School of Motoring Driving Lesson Scholarship scheme will:

  • Include a FREE course of practical driving lessons* which will enable the student to achieve a full driving licence where they may not have been otherwise able to do so.
  • Offer a commitment in assisting the successful applicant to reach a high standard of driving in order for them to be "a safe driver for life".
  • Provide a safe and suitable learning environment throughout the students training.


The prospective scholar is invited to contact the school, stating their reasons for being considered a deserving candidate for our Driving Lesson Scholarship and describe how a full driving licence will benefit them in their personal and/or career development. 

Possible examples of meeting this requirement could be:

  • Working towards an apprenticeship in a career that requires a full licence
  • An aspiring athlete/sportsperson
  • A full part/full timer carer


The driving school would like to bring your attention to the above examples but point out that they are not the only qualities that may result in a successful application. 

For those applicants that are unsuccessful this time, anybody still wishing to take a course of driving lessons with Karen's SOM will receive a £10 discount from a block of 10 lessons plus a complimentary FREE copy of the Highway Code.
