Cancel the order for a new Continental, and buy a Honda Jazz instead

26 July, 2013

W ouldn't it be easy to assume that the more money you spend on a car, the more reliable it will be in return?

But according to the latest car reliability survey by Warranty Direct and What Car, Bentley makes the least reliable cars currently on sale, while Honda makes the most dependable.

So maybe now is the time to cancel the order you've got in for that new Continental, and buy a Honda Jazz instead.

It's not as though Honda's success is a one-off as this year is the eighth in a row that the Japanese car maker has taken the top slot.  Included in the survey are 38 car makers, and as in previous years, this year the most reliable cars originate in Japan and Korea whilst Land Rover and Porsche join Bentley at the bottom.

The What Car? and Warranty Direct Reliability Survey is based on real claims data and is a compilation of reviews and opinions of over 50,000 car owners of cars aged between three and eight years old.  The survey takes into account the average yearly repair costs, common model issues and the owners overall reliability score for their car.

Honda models feature prominently throughout the survey with the British built Jazz and Civic continuing to do well in their respective classes, as does the Accord, while the HR-V was named the most reliable compact SUV.
